[The following is a note written in the page margin] The original deed of which the oposite [sic] is a copy has thereupon an adhesive stamp to the amount of fifty cents denoting the deed in oposite {sic] thereon. Said adhesive stamp has thereupon the initials of the name of John Nofsinger with [?] [?] [?] dates the same of that as the original deed.

[Note: At times the second letter of Nofsinger looks like an “o” instead of an “e”. Also sometimes in this deed it it spelled with two f’s and sometimes with one “f”. In the 1860 Federal Census, Missouri, Webster Co., Hazelwood Township, page 19, his name appears to be “Norfsinger” – I’m pretty sure the “r” should be an “f” so I think the proper spelling of his name would be “Noffsinger”.]
